Willow is 11 weeks old today and had some of her 6 week immunisations. We have delayed them because 6 weeks seems so little to have foreign bodies put into it, and also because of her surgery/recovery. She received the Hib/dip/hep one but not Prevenar. I'm still not sure if we will let her get Prevenar... The research seems to suggest that there is an increase in antibiotic-resistance bugs in children who have had this vaccine and there also seem to be a large number of children who get adverse side-effects. I just wish all the vaccines were 100% safe and effective and then there would be no need for indecision!
She cried (*read screamed) when the vaccine shot was given but settled quickly once I fed her. She's been a bit grizzly today but nothing really bad and so far she hasn't had a temperature or any redness around the injection site. Thank you Lord!
